Debrecen community transport fleet adds new e-buses

The population must be incentivized to use community transportation in order to reduce carbon emissions, the Minister of State of the Ministry of Technology and Industry (ITM) said in Debrecen, where 12 new electric Mercedes-Benz city buses entered service under the framework of the Green Bus initiative.
Operating eco-friendly buses saves HUF 60-70 per kilometre in operating costs and they return on their investment much quicker, too, he added.
The 12-metre long, three-door, low-floor, air-conditioned, wheelchair-accessible Mercedes-Benz models can do up to 315 kilometres on a single charge with minimal emissions.
