Over the years, Csaba Metál has grown from a small enterprise with a headcount of two into a company employing over 1,000 people. Last year, the company, exporting 75 percent of its products, registered a turnover of HUF 10 billion (EUR 31 million).

Béla Majoros, the owner of Csaba Metál Zrt., said at the inauguration that the government's current economic policy is supporting privately-owned Hungarian automotive suppliers. In addition to subsidies, Majoros stressed the importance of creative, humble work and professional preparedness.

Majoros told Hungarian news agency MTI that the investment was necessitated by an increasing demand on lightweight aluminium components in the automotive industry worldwide.

The company received a HUF 500 million (EUR 1.6 million) subsidy from EU and national funds within the scopes of the Economy Development Operative Programme and spent an additional HUF 500 million from its own resources. As a result of the investment, the company's location in Békéscsaba has been expanded with a new, 3,800-square-metre production hall, housing a high-capacity foundry and machining centre.

The family business is a direct supplier of a number of large European OEMs, such as BMW, Volkswagen, and is also a supplier of nearly all major manufacturers through Tier 1 suppliers such as Delphi, Continental, Hella and the Trelleborg group.

In 2014, Csaba Metál registered an income of HUF 10.6 billion (EUR 35 million) up from HUF 4.7 billion (EUR 15.6 million) in 2010. The company's projection for the year 2015 is HUF 13.1 billion (EUR 44 million).
