Conference for engineering students held in Győr

This week, the National Conference of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering Students, a meeting uniting corporations and technical universities and colleges in Hungary, was held for the tenth time in Győr.

"Our aim is to provide an educational platform for mechanical and mechatronic engineer students committed to the profession for networking," said Dániel Pup, engineer at Széchenyi István University of Győr, mentor and founder of the event.

Organizer Ferenc Farkas said every university in Hungary with an engineering department had been invited to the event, in fact, engineering students from the University of Bratislava, Slovakia, the University of Nitra, Slovakia, the University of Sapienta, Romania, and the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, also attended four-day event.

During the Conference, held between March 29 and April 1, 96 university and college students compete in completing activities drafted by the sponsors of the event. Farkas added he does not of any other towns with such an initiative to consolidate the ties between industry and higher education.

This year, the activities were drafted by automotive manufacturers and suppliers such as Revo-tec, LuK Savaria, Rába, SMR and Nemak. Representatives from these firms were also present to offer insights and become acquainted with the latest generation of prospective engineers.
