Car registrations: every tenth car sold in Hungary assembled locally
In the first ten months this year, 63,491 new passenger cars were registered in Hungary, up 14.4 (7,980 units) percent from the same period last year.
Over 11 percent of these cars were manufactured at Hungary-based OEMs. Let's see the most popular Hungarian-built models.
Including the new Vitara, overtaking both its in-house rival, the SX4 S-Cross and the previous best-seller Swift, there are now eight models manufactured or assembled at Hungarian production sites.
A significant order from the Hungarian police department played a significant role in Mercedes's outstanding performance.
Suzuki has two models in the Top 5, with the Vitara climbing to second place, while the Swift is the fifth most popular car in Hungary. Also made by the Japanese car maker, the SX4 S-Cross is 12th on the list.

In January 2015, 607 Audi A3/S3 cars were also registered, including several units manufactured at the car maker's plant in Győr, Hungary.
Through October 2015, 404 new buses were registered in Hungary but in spite of a good performance by the local bus manufacturing sector, none of these vehicles were made locally.
