BYD to set up electric bus manufacturing plant in Komárom with €20 million investment
Chinese BYD will build its first electric bus manufacturing in Europe in Komárom, Hungary, with a HUF 6.2 billion (€20 million) investment, supported with an approx. €3 million state subsidy.
Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said at a press conference that production is expected to start early next year, with production volumes reaching 200 units per annum.
The world’s largest electric bus producer’s Hungarian investment will create 300 new jobs in the region, Szijjártó added.
