Budapest trolleybus fleet to be refreshed with 48 new vehicles

Budapest city management made a decision at the end of November last year to redeem a purchase option from Solaris-Škoda to buy 48 trolleybuses with off-wire capability.
Soon after, an announcement on the purchase agreement was published on the website of Solaris at the end of December.
According to the agreement, 48 Solaris-Škoda trolleybuses will be delivered to Budapest – 36 articulated and 12 solo vehicles. The first units are scheduled to be delivered in the final quarter of 2022, while the remaining vehicles are expected to enter service in 2023.
