Bosch relocates Bremen production capacities to Eger - week 45 2019 edition

Audi Hungaria to expand engine capacities in Győr, thyssenkrupp celebrates 20th anniversary of Hungarian automotive division at BME, Bosch reorganizes European production activities. Let’s recap what last week brought in Hungary’s automotive sector.

Audi’s is planning a boost in production capacities at its Győr plant: next year, the German car maker is expecting to produce 2.25 million engines at its Hungarian unit.

Bosch is reorganizing its automotive steering division in Europe. One of the winners of the campaign is Hungary, as production capacities will be relocated from Germany to Eger, Hungary, and Vendôme, France.

People often forget about one of Hungary’s true success stories, bus manufacturing. The national bus strategy, favouring local manufacturers, is giving high hopes to the Hungarian bus industry.

An automated storage unit is currently under construction in Jászberény with a HUF 1.4 billion investment. The capacity expansion project by Szatmári Kereskedelmi és Szolgáltató Kft. is supported with a HUF 680 million government aid under the scopes of a subsidy programme promoting investments by large businesses.

The automotive division of thyssenkrupp began operation in Hungary 20 years ago: the company celebrated the anniversary where it all began in 1999, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.

The Gablini Group has managed to secure Aston Martin importer rights in Hungary and several other countries in the region following years of preparation. A showroom will be opened in early-2020, in May, at the Gablini M3 site. The company is projecting to sell 30-40 Aston Martin cars a year in Hungary over the medium term.

S&T Consulting Hungary Kft. Is launching S&T University 4.0, a unique programme in Hungary’s higher education providing software to Hungarian universities at a total value of billions of forints. As one of the leading IT systems integrators and experts in industrial digitalization, S&T will contribute to the development of universities in the training of industrial digitalization.

Budapest Neutron Center (BNC) and the Italian Rogante Engineering Office (REO) has celebrated the 20th anniversary of their professional cooperation and collaboration in business. REO has been engaged in various research activities in collaboration with the Centre for Energy Research of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA), the operators of the research reactor in Csillebérc, and BNC, who run material testing laboratories at the facility.

The government’s new SME strategy for the period of 2019-2030 will assist Hungarian micro-, small and medium-sized businesses in their economic transition with a total allocation of HUF 200 million.

Siemens is warning about decreasing demand in the vehicle market despite posting an operating profit of €2.64 billion on a group level, a significant increase from earlier projections thanks to a substantial boost in order volumes, which contributed to a 20 percent year-on-year growth.

The Chinese passenger car market is expected to fall by 8 percent this year. A slowing economic growth and stricter manufacturing regulations have resulted in a shrinking auto industry for the second consecutive year.
