BMW rumoured to open new plant in Hungary
BMW spokesperson Sandra Schillmöller has said recently that the company is currently evaluating which countries meet the requirements for future production activities. At the same time, Hungarian news outlets reported that the German manufacturer has plans to build its latest plant near Miskolc.
A local newspaper for Miskolc and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County published an article last weekend about BMW’s potential future plans in Hungary. Nothing has been confirmed yet, the mayor has reportedly signed a non-disclosure agreement and thus was unavailable to comment.
It is encouraging that an investment in Hernádnémet has been elevated to a priority task of national economy, Csaba Kilián, secretary general of Association of the Hungarian Automotive Industry, said in reaction to the news.
