Besides the team, professors teaching in the field of vehicle development and the representatives of players in the industry also participated in the event, seeing great potential in the Formula Student series.

This car, powered by electric drive, is BME FRT's ninth effort for the Formula Student competition. The team's hard work is underlined by the fact that the new car, called Michaela, is capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, while the overall performance of its two electric motor amounts to 160 bhp.

The list of sponsors is also nothing short of remarkable: car manufacturers, leading suppliers, representatives of the SME sector stand behind this development team, which can be considered as a successful business venture.

The representatives of AVL, Robert Bosch and Dentrit gave a speech at the event, expressing their appreciation towards the team, who put almost 10,000 work hours into the development of the car, requiring a vast amount of ambition, know-how and commitment.

The 2014 car features a hybrid structure: a carbon composite monocoque in front of the main roll cage and a steel tube frame behind it. The main roll cage is now located on the outside to provide easier accessibility.

This year's car also features new aero parts. Thanks to their complicated geometry, the wings are constructed from 32 different elements, which required special tools.

In addition, based on the team's experience from previous years, several parts of the car have been redesigned, such as the carbon wheels, resulting in a weight save of 1.5-2 kg per wheel, and the diffuser. The high-voltage battery case has also been redesigned.

Michaela will compete in Germany and at the Formula Student Hungary event as well.
