AVL inaugurates new automotive technology centre inaugurated near ZalaZone

Hungary has an ever-increasing role in automotive research and development, departing technology minister László Palkovics said at the inauguration ceremony of Austrian technology developer AVL’s new automotive technology centre near ZalaZone, in Zalaegerszeg.
Hungary’s advancement in automotive development is well illustrated by an increase in the number of automotive development engineers and researchers in employment from 3,000 in the previous decade to over 10,000.
The new facility will have capacity to employ 150 engineers and test pilots and prepare 50 test vehicles simultaneously.
Helmut List, AVL president and CEO, said at the inauguration that the group is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Hungarian activities.
