Audi Hungaria’s Győr plant becomes second carbon-neutral Audi site

With the conclusion of a joint project by Audi Hungaria and E.ON Hungária, Europe’s largest building-based photovoltaic system covering 160,000 square metres on the roofs of Audi’s two logistics centres has finally been inaugurated in Győr.

Boasting a total installed capacity of 12 megawatts (MW), Europe’s largest rooftop solar power system was ceremoniously inaugurated this Wednesday by Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Kössler, board member for production at Audi AG and chairman of the supervisory commission at Audi Hungaria, Dr. Karsten Wildberger, member of the board of management at E.ON SE, Alfons Dintner, CEO of Audi Hungaria, Attila Kiss, CEO and president of E.ON Hungária, and Csaba A. Dézsi, MD, mayor of Győr.
