At the same time 42,851 (33,553) vehicles rolled off the production line. The number of employees grew to 10,337 in the previous year, reported the company on their website.

“In 2013 we continued to keep the company on a growth course,“ said Thomas Faustmann, Chief Executive Officer.

“In engine production we achieved a record once again in terms of production volumes. Despite several challenges in vehicle production – raising the production level of a factory with new employees – we closed a very successful year with high production figures. Thus, we are greatly contributing to the global growth strategy of AUDI AG, and further strengthening our international competitiveness," added the CEO.

Regarding engine production, 1,434,540 four-cylinder Otto- and diesel engines and 2,448 five-cylinder Otto-engines were manufactured. In addition, 445,369 six-cylinder engines and 43,279 eight-, ten-, and 12-cylinder power sources were made by the company.

“Due to our innovative and attractive products and the flexibility of our employees, we achieved a significant increase in production in 2013, too”, stressed Achim Heinfling, Managing Director for Engine Production. “Technical innovation and the diverse product portfolio are key to our continuous development: they ensure our position as the biggest engine producer in the world.“

Audi's annual press conference was attended by some 300 journalists

Audi Hungaria pointed out in a statement on their website: in 2013, 235 models of the six types of Otto and the four types of diesel engines with an output ranging from 63 kW (86 LE) to 419 kW (570 LE) were made by the company. Some 5,400 employees produce 8,100 engines here every day. The engine factory in Győr delivers its engines to 30 sites of the Volkswagen Group around the world.

Regarding vehicle production, altogether 42,851 cars have been completed, out them 14,808 TT Coupés, 3,550 TT Roadsters, 21,607 A3 Limousines, and 2,886 A3 Cabriolets.

“The opening of our new vehicle factory in June was an important milestone for Audi“, said Gerd Walker, Managing Director for Vehicle Production. “We are proud that in Győr we have made a car factory that covers the whole production process – from the pressing plant through the body and painting workshops to the assembly plant, and successfully increased production.“

The highlight of the past year was the launching of serial production in the new vehicle factory: since June the Audi A3 Limousine and since October the A3 Cabriolet have rolled off the production lines in Győr. Both models are produced completely in Győr. Currently there are 3,000 employees working in vehicle production, boasting an annual production capacity of approx. 125,000 vehicles.

Apart from the events celebrating the 20th anniversary of Audi Hungaria, the other memorable event was the double production anniversary in November: the 25 millionth engine – a four-cylinder 2,0 liter TFSI power source – was fitted into the 500,000th Audi TT produced in Győr.

As of the 31 December, 2013 Audi Hungaria's headcount was 10,337 (8,663). In the past years over 1,600 new employees started work at Audi Hungaria.
