According to Mayor Attila Molnár (Fidesz-KDNP), the investment amounts to HUF 9 billion, and the new plant will create 150 jobs by the end of 2017. The plant will have an expected capacity of 66,000 tons of aluminium casts per year.

Since the arrival of the Alumetal group in 1998, it has been the first greenfield investment in the town, Molnár said. Alumetal, one of the largest aluminium refineries in Europe, produces aluminium casts from metal waste for automotive applications.

The Komárom-based plant is the Alumetal group's first greenfield investment abroad. The total capacity of the company's three Polish plants is 165,000 tons per year, while over 90 percent of the company's products are sold to automotive companies, such as Volkswagen or the Nemak group.
