20 Siemens-powered electric buses to join BKV fleet

Budapest public transport company BKV will launch 20 new electric Modulo buses this year. The vehicles were developed by engineering firm evopro, and are manufactured by Mabi-Bus Kft., using a powertrain system supplied by Siemens Zrt.

Capable of travelling 200 kilometres on a single charge with a capacity for 52 passengers, the low-floor, 2-axle buses are expected to enter operation in Budapest during the spring.

Thanks to a composite frame developed by evopro and Siemens' latest electric powertrain technology, these vehicles are among the most economic buses used for public transportation around the world.
