New Duvenbeck site inaugurated

The opening ceremony of Duvenbeck IMMO Logisztikai Kft´s new site in Kecskemét, right next to the Mercedes factory, was held on Thursday.

The investment of the German company is the first among Mercedes suppliers. A 5,000m2 area was handed over which means, the number of employees can now go up to 70.

The following people were present at the opening ceremony: Thomas Duvenbeck, owner of the German family-business and leader of the company-group, Norbert Joichl, logistics general manager, Gregor Egerer, leader of the Slovak and Romanian subsidiary companies, Attila Kórusz, leader of the Hungarian subsidiary company, Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft's logistics manager Stefan Putzlocher, under-secretary of National Resource Ministry Géza Szőcs and Mrs Klaudia Szemerey, deputy mayor responsible for economic affairs in the town of Kecsemét.

During the ceremony, Norbert Joichl and Gregor Egerer reminisced about the past few months when - thanks to the outstanding efforts of the colleagues and partners - the 4-million euro project was realized in a record-time.

Thomas Duvenbeck presented the company-group and the old partner relationship which connects the enterprise to Daimler. Stefan Putzlocher said the following: "It's a great pleasure for us that thanks to the Duvenbeck Company, the first logistics centre was ready on time in less than four months. We were able to start production tests according to plan, the first parts are just simply transported in sequence to the assembly warehouse from the Duvenbeck site".

"It's our pleasure to welcome a family business in our city, which sets an example to the small and medium size enterprise sector and which gives secure jobs to 150 families," Mrs Szemerey added.

Duvenbeck group is a leading logistics enterprise in Europe and they are strong in the automotive, beverage and plastic industry. The firm employs more than 2,300 workers at 29 subsidiary companies in 8 countries of the continent. Their Hungarian-based branch is Duvenbeck IMMO Logisztikai Kft.

The building process of the site started in Kecskemét next to the Mercedes factory in May. The parent company considers and regards the project as the development of an Eastern European centre.

The company's main profile is logistics and transportation. In parallel with the Kecskemét-based Daimler project, Duvenbeck deals with accessory storing, stocking and so-called Just-In-Time and Just-In-Sequence system delivering. Their presence on the automotive industry is the most significant, the enterprise is the 3rd most important supplier in the field.
